Wikuomm aq Waso’q

Wikuomm aq Waso'q is the name of our Storytelling event.

Wikuomm is what the Mi’kmaw used as shelter and protection from the elements. It also refers to our home.

Waso'q is the Mi'kmaw word for where our spirit goes when our physical body dies. Waso'q represents the lights in the celestial sky and is represented as the five-pointed star in petroglyphs.

Wikuomm aq Waso’q is a storytelling and night sky viewing event where we share star stories and look up to at the night sky to find our oldest relatives.

About Our Logo :

The double curve is an ancient motif our ancestors used. The teaching of the double curved design represents balance. It also symbolizes the relationship between what happens here in the physical also happens in the spiritual.

The double curve is mirrored top to bottom because we believe what happens in the sky also happens below here on wsitkumu (Mother Earth.)
